BALI FLAGS – COLOURFUL DECORATION FOR HOUSE AND GARDEN WITH A DIVINE BACKGROUND
On the island of the gods, a wealth of color reigns around every corner, partly natural and partly thanks to the Balinese's efforts, making it one of the most typical characteristics of the Indonesian island. Many bright, visible spots are created by the typical Bali flags. These narrow, colorful flags rise five to six meters into the sky. Unlike hanging banners and flags in Western cultures, they are supported by a bamboo pole. Their sweeping, upwardly curved tip gives them their Balinese name. The Umbul Umbul can be translated as "tail of the dragon." The doubling of words in the Indonesian language lends additional meaning, so that Bali flags are also understood as "rising up." Bali was settled by descendants of Indian clergy, the Brahmins. Indonesia's only Hindu island to date brought its religious significance and customs with them from India. This also applies to the Bali flags, whose legend is based on a story from the Hindu founding epic, the Ramayana. The legend speaks of a dispute between the heroic figures Arjuna and the god of monkeys Hanuman.
BUY BALI FLAGS
These models, also known as Asian flags or garden flags, are available in solid colors, multi-colored, checkered, and with decorative motifs such as dragon motifs. Different lengths and arrangements in flag groups add colorful highlights to your home and garden. Cut-out Bali flags create special effects by fluttering in the wind. They combine the elegance of the original with the characteristics of the horizontally fluttering flags of our latitudes. Special adaptations such as rainbow colors or Bavarian Oktoberfest decorations fulfill individual design ideas. Flagpoles of all lengths are also available as accessories, usually made of durable fiberglass and with telescopic technology.
REMEMBERING THE GODS WITH OR WITHOUT DRAGONS
In authentic use, either single-colored Bali flags or versions with dragon depictions can be found. While flags with dragons are primarily found at lively festivities such as parades and ceremonies, single-colored flags usually guard and protect property, houses, people, and villages. The dragon symbolizes Arjuna's weapons, the arrows. Single-colored Bali flags serve as a permanent reminder of the presence of the gods. They are often also referred to as prayer flags. Frugality and pragmatism lead the Balinese to respect their religious significance without associating particularly strict customs or rituals with the flag.
DIVINE GREETING AND DECORATION OBJECT
Balinese people combine their religious faith and everyday life in a light and casual way. Beauty and jewelry are expressions of joie de vivre and respect. Therefore, the enthusiasm of visitors, especially Europeans, for their colorful Balinese flags has never bothered them. Many variations and adaptations to Western tastes often carry the tradition only partially or not at all. Available motifs range from batik to rainbows. If you want to consider the significance of the colors in your personal jewelry, choose the Balinese flag designs based on their meanings. White symbolizes purity, red radiates courage and strength, blue signals fame and fertility, green stands for peace and happiness, yellow for eternity, and black for power.
